A Country Wedding at The Barn at Crescent Lake
Odessa, Florida
When couples think of a barn, they naturally think outdoorsy or rustic, but it was important to tie in decor and details that evoked a different meaning. Adding in a little bit of romance here and there was the ultimate way to nail a barn wedding with a bit of flair. After the addition of stunning chandeliers and a fresh set of grey paint, The Barn at Crescent Lake is the fairytale backdrop for any type of wedding.
I opted for a dusty blue and dusty rose pairing with an abundance of greenery to truly capture the vision I was going for. Combining the soft color palette with lush greenery brought to life a refreshing and romantic take on a spring or fall wedding.
With a geometrical wooden ceremony backdrop dripping with pastel flowers set against the Crescent Lake in North Tampa, our team and the florist Ever After Vintage Weddings created a garden-like setting with a rustic meets vintage ambiance. The neutral color palette continued into the reception, which incorporated pops of color with vintage blue stemware found at Home Goods and table linens.
How we coordinated the vendors
Step 1. We secured a location
Step 2. We set a date that worked for all vendors and the venue
Step 3. We reached out to multiple vendors via email to find our core team of must-have vendors (Photographer, videographer, florist, rentals)
Step 4. Secured additional vendors. These are the people whose services add more depth and interest to the shoot. (Models, attire, hair, make-up, cake or desserts, printed stationery)
Step 5. Worked with the vendor team to create a color scheme/theme/vision and determine what everyone will contribute to achieve that goal. We created a Pinterest board that mixes together inspiration photos for the shoot, along with photos of objects and props. Once we secured the vendors, I invited them to pin to the board as well, so we could hash out ideas and make sure we were all on the same page.
Step 6. In the weeks leading up to the shoot, we created a schedule for everyone who is participating. We made sure to has out the details such as What time is hair and makeup? When should the other vendors be there? When should the models arrive? What time will you start shooting? What time will you be done?
Step 7: Just like a wedding, we made sure all the plans were carried out on the day of the shoot.
