Most Common Wedding Day Blunders (And How We Fix Them)

I have been to my fair-share of weddings without planners, and let me tell you – planners can make or break the day. Having an extra, experienced hand on board for your wedding always makes the day much smoother, and much more relaxing for everyone.

Communication is key. This is the first tip I always tell my brides. For example, your photographer will need to know key moments throughout the day such as ceremony time, whether or not you want a first look, exit time, etc. We communicate these things to your vendors so you don’t have to stress on the day of the wedding.

Photos take longer than planned after the ceremony, and delay the couple from getting into their reception. Solution: If photos run longer than expected it puts added stress on all the other vendors. We also make it a point to contact the photographer a few weeks prior to the wedding to ensure our timelines coordinate. On the day of, we will give them a heads up when we are 10 minutes out from reception start time. This ensures everyone is on the same page.

Guests aren’t where you need them to be: One of the biggest problems that lots of couples encounter on their wedding day is that their guests aren’t where you need them to be, and it puts the schedule behind. We create more time than you think into your schedule for those transition periods.

Rain in the forecast: In the week before your wedding, we keep checking the weather reports, and if it looks like it might do anything other than what you want, we start your contingency plan. We always have a weather back-up plan. But also think about a heat-wave plan (fans, shade) and a wind plan (move your confetti shot and make sure your wedding signs are secure)

Vendors are a no show: Why isn’t my florist responding? Why hasn’t my cake showed up? Don’t stress. We regularly communicate with florists, caterers, DJs, stationery designers, hair stylists, and photographers and can always call our friendors for backup reinforcement. There’s always a way to work around what you may think is a disaster.

Emergency Kit: Let’s face it — things you never expected to go wrong can on your wedding day. You may spill something on your dress, need a sewing kit for the groomsmen who tore his pants (true story), breath mints before the first kiss. We show up prepared on your wedding day with these items.

From family drama, to missing or late vendors, we can handle all of the behind-the-scenes craziness. Our mission is to keep you organized, ensure that nothing falls through the cracks, and give couples a wedding day that is calm and seamless
